Hello. I’m Angeli Degardin a registered Nutritional Therapist

BSc(Hons), MSc, DipION, mBANT, rCNHC.

Having spent my childhood in India, a country with such a rich culinary heritage, food has always been of interest to me! Yet, my interest in using food in a therapeutic way is something I only discovered later in life. After completing an undergraduate degree in psychology and a masters degree from University College London in speech and language therapy, I spent nearly fifteen years working as a speech and language therapist with children and families.

Yet simultaneously, I had a growing interest in how our diets and lifestyle can impact our health. I began to notice how changing what I ate could impact my digestion, my energy levels and my mood. The more I read, the more I realised how diet and lifestyle are key to our overall wellbeing no matter what age we are. It opened up a whole new, exciting world and an appreciation of how beautifully the body can function when it is in balance.

Eventually I decided to change careers and fully embrace my passion for health and well-being by retraining at the renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition, where I complete a three year nutrition course following a functional medicine approach and graduated with distinction.

My approach

Personalised nutrition

Rather than ‘one size fits all’ approach. After all, our individual bodies respond differently to different foods and we are influenced by our own unique genetic makeup.

Holistic

I recognise the intricate connection between mind, body and spirit and the impact that all these together may have on health.

My aim is to identify the root cause of your underlying health issue, rather than merely suppressing your symptoms in order to make lasting changes.

Scientific

The advice I give is based on current research. Our knowledge about nutrition is a rapidly evolving and in order to stay up to date in this industry, I regularly attend courses and listen to some of the top speakers and researchers in this field.

Empathetic

I provide a warm, supportive space in which you can be open, honest and really feel listened to, so that I can thoroughly understand your health concerns and your goals.

Collaborative

I focus on collaborative working, where we will jointly come up with a plan that will help you to reach your health goals in a way that works for you as an individual.

Nourishing

I believe that eating to nourish your body is so much about what you put in rather than only looking at what to reduce or remove. Food should be a joyful experience!
